Boesak plea to Mandela

JOHANNESBURG: Former anti-apartheid activist Allan Boesak is mounting a final effort to save his diplomatic career after aid agencies said he enriched himself with funds meant for victims of apartheid.

The ambassador-designate to the United Nations in Geneva, Mr Boesak said he would appeal to President Nelson Mandela to appoint an independent investigator to evaluate the allegations against him.
