Record beaten twice

WORLD Champion Bonnie Blair and her closest rival, Canadian Susan Auch, both beat Blair's year-old world record in a 500-metre World Cup speedskating event at Calgary.

Blair won the race and beat her own previous world record of 38.99 seconds with a time of 38.69 seconds. Auch was clocked at 38.94 seconds.
