Toagosei takes top quality chemicals across Asia
Toagosei has continued to grow along with the whole chemical sector for almost 100 years. An industry pioneer in Japan, the company balances a diverse portfolio of high value-added commercial and industrial products across its commodity chemicals, acrylic products, speciality chemicals and plastics divisions.
Technology and product innovation combined with access to its own raw materials are integral to the company's success. The company enjoys a strong market share in Japanese highly functional adhesives and has a significant share of the acrylics market with products such as Aronix.
Aronix can be used for ink, paint, coatings and adhesives for liquid crystal displays. It is made of a resin that cures quickly through exposure to ultraviolet light. It is also environmentally friendly - paving the way for products with minimal solvent content.
Toagosei is ready to share its expertise with the rest of Asia. "Our strategy is to bring our strongest and most trusted products overseas," says Futoshi Hashimoto, president and representative director.
Chinese manufacturers use Aronix in applications including ink, paint and coatings. Aronix has production support in Japan, China and Taiwan.
Toagosei's Aron Alpha instant glue is a household name in Hong Kong. The product series is also gaining ground in Shanghai and Shenzhen under the Krazy Glue brand.
Toagosei is also expanding in the Asian market with its Novaron brand of silver-based inorganic antimicrobial agents used in textiles, daily items and home electrical appliances.
Toagosei's research and development initiatives provide opportunities for product development and partnerships. It has developed an eco-friendly ballast water disposal solution and is looking for marketing partners to extend the product's reach.
Anticipating trends, Toagosei will focus on new businesses in bioinformatics and fresh applications for acrylic products, adhesives and silicon materials.
"We want to make sure that we have as many products as possible that can be used by our Asian customers," Hashimoto says.
