Request proved fruitless

I LIVE in the Sai Kung area, and last week I was off work for a few days.

On Monday morning at 8.15 I went into Sai Kung village to go to Park'N Shop. There were a few parking spaces in one of the parking areas which have recently had meters installed.

There were two police officers there issuing parking tickets. I had a pocketful of change, but no $2 coins. I said to one of the officers that I was just going to run down to 7-Eleven to get change and would only be two minutes, so please do not give me a ticket.

On returning back to my car (and in under two minutes), I found a ticket on my windscreen.

I confronted the officer who said 'It's too late I've issued the ticket.' Do the police just enjoy getting people's backs up? JOHN WISEMAN Sai Kung
