THE appointment of Derek Soper as chairman of AT&T Capital's Asia-Pacific operations, marks the end of the outfit's first year in Asia.

It is also likely to mark an expansion out of the firm's Hong Kong base and into the wider Asian region.

Mr Soper is keen to keep hold of the core leasing business built up here.
