THOUSANDS of people in Macau, many of them tourists from China, queued at the Outer Harbour to board two visiting Royal Navy vessels. The HMS Plover and Peacock, both stationed in Hong Kong, were in the enclave on a friendly visit and will return to the territory today. Warships have been a rare sight in Macau since the Portuguese garrison withdrew in 1976.
