Give visitors a car-park
I WOULD like to ask the Correctional Services Department to tell me where the visitors' car-park at Stanley Prison is situated? As a regular visitor to the prison, I have been looking for a place to park the car, but I have not yet found one. I tried all possibilities, but in vain, as either I was sent away by the prison personnel, or issued a ticket by the police.
When a police constable was writing such a ticket on Thursday, I asked him where I should park the car when I visit the prison? He told me I should go back to Stanley Village where there are parking meters.
I did not appreciate his humour, as this represents a distance of more than one kilometre, and in each of my visits, I am heavily loaded with kilos of books and other things to be distributed to the people I am visiting.
So can I ask the prison authorities to provide some parking facilities for the many visitors who go regularly to Stanley Prison? The big parking area next to the main door is always very under-utilised, and it should not be a problem to share part of it with the visitors. Such a big prison like Stanley should provide better facilities for the visitors.
