SEEMS McCosh the Younger is poised to follow in his father's footsteps following his self-styled protection of Police Commissioner Eddie Hui at a charity cheque presentation this week.

Duncan McCosh, a chief inspector with the force and son of recently retired Commissioner of Correctional Services, Eric McCosh, came to the rescue when the press-friendly Mr Hui was besieged by reporters following a presentation of $900,000 to charity at the police training centre in Aberdeen.

McCosh junior quickly came to his boss's assistance. There was little resistance, possibly due to McCosh's imposing frame mirroring that of his illustrious father. His upbringing obviously taught him respect for his seniors, but we thought the band's soft rendition of the theme music from Love Story was going a bit far.
