DIALLING codes to Britain will change next month, according to British Telecommunications.

From April 16, an extra '1' will be added to the front of all existing geographical area codes. For example, callers to central London who now dial 44 71 will have to dial 44 171.

Five cities - Bristol, Leeds, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield - will have new codes and an extra digit before existing numbers.
