THE Pearson company said it has dropped plans to develop a Madame Tussaud's entertainment attraction at One Times Square in New York City because it couldn't reach an agreement with the building's new owner, Lehman Brothers Holding Inc.

Lehman is said to have completed a US$27.5 million transaction to buy the building from Banque Nationale de Paris.

Pearson now leases the illuminated news monitor at the base of One Times Square.
