THE seven New Territories village heads and four villagers who were arrested by Public Security Bureau officers last weekend for suspected vice offences inside a private club in Dongguan, Guangdong, returned by ferry to Hong Kong yesterday.
It was reported that the group had paid fines in lieu of detention.
Relatives of the men who went to the Hong Kong China ferry terminal to meet them confronted photographers taking pictures of the group as they walked out.
A row erupted when the relatives surrounded the photographers, threatened to assault them and demanded the film from their cameras.
Police and security guards at the terminal arrived shortly afterwards and the group dispersed.
The men allegedly belong to an exclusive club known as an 'iron cave'. It is said to offer gambling, karaoke bars with hostesses and accommodation for members and VIP guests. Local authorities were said to have turned a blind eye to its activities.
