Fans in for surprises at concert

ANTHONY Lun Wing-leung is busy preparing for his good friend Anita Mui Yim-fong's concert on Friday.

The talented singer-musician said he had spent a great deal of time rehearsing with the pop queen and hoped the event would be a success.

He said there would be a lot of surprises in store for fans. 'The entry of some animals on the stage will add a fun element to the concert.' Vivian Chow Wai-man said too many appearances by singers on television and stage had made audiences very demanding.

'The music market in Hong Kong and Japan has reached saturation point and some stimulus from foreign songs and music is needed to boost the industry.' Frail Wu Chien Lien felt a bit weak after taking part in the 30-Hour Famine over the weekend, but 'I still managed to make it'.

Like other campers who had assembled at the Hong Kong Stadium, the Taiwanese artist only drank milk and juice during the event.

Wu said as a child she once gave up food for five days and only survived on water.

'I was hoping that my parents would buy me a water bottle, but they didn't. I was so angry that I refused to eat for five days.' Linda Wong Hing-ping is enjoying her new-found fame in South Korea, but does not quite like the country.

'I once saw a Korean man beating a woman. They are really cruel.' The Japanese, said Wong, were more polite and gentle.
