AppleShare gets faster

APPLE Computer has announced two new PowerPC-based Workgroup Servers featuring the fastest version of AppleShare to date.

The new Workgroup Servers 8150/110 and 9150/120 use the PowerPC 601 CPU in 100 MHz and 120 MHz versions. The PowerPC 601 120 MHz processor is the latest version of the chip developed by IBM and Motorola.

The new servers come equipped with DAT drives, remote backup software, Apple RAID software for disk mirroring and quadruple-speed CD-ROM drives.

AppleShare 4.1 provides as much as 90 per cent performance improvement over previous versions.
