Asian hotel groups expand in region

The Mandarin Oriental opened recently in Guangzhou, the brand's first city hotel on the mainland. Guests can enjoy The Second Night On Us package until April 13. This includes two nights' luxury accommodation, spa and restaurant credits, a two-hour shopping concierge service in nearby TaiKoo Hui and a one-way transfer to the airport or the East Railway Station.

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas opens its latest five-star resort in Dubai in September. The Anantara Dubai Palm Jumeirah Resort & Spa on iconic Palm Jumeirah offers 293 rooms, 12 beach villas, 18 overwater villas and exclusive royal beach villas. Impressive facilities include a private beach, three natural lagoons and a shoreline infinity pool.


Banyan Tree growing in Chongqing
Chongqing Beibei Banyan Tree is opening in phases over the year. The hotel and spa are already open for guests, with the Banyan Tree Residence and two-room Wetland Residences opening later in the year. Located near scenic Jinyun Mountain, famous for its distinctive ridges and peaks, the area is also known for its hot springs. The property is just 50 minutes' drive from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.


Visa-free Hidden Gems
With 72-hour visa-free transit recently granted to 45 nationalities in the cities of Beijing and Shanghai, the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing is offering exciting packages to visitors. Hidden Gems takes visitors to parts of the Forbidden City, Great Wall and Summer Palace not accessible to other tourists. For those who just want to chill in the comfort of the hotel, its spa's 11 treatment rooms surround a tea garden that offers some of China's finest teas. Children can discover how the hotel's back of house works with programmes designed for areas such as the kitchen. Visa-free status is now given to certain travellers transiting to a third country and is only granted for those arriving and departing from Beijing's Capital International Airport and Shanghai's Pudong International Airport.


Pure theatre
Guests at the Corinthia Hotel London can engage in some theatricals this spring as the exclusive hotel stages a series of theatre performances entitled Above and Beyond until April 14. The Artist in Residence, Look Left Look Right takes audiences on a thrilling journey of intrigue and suspense against a backdrop of the fully operational hotel. Audiences are encouraged to play the protagonist as each participant is guided through the various hotel spaces such as the Lobby Lounge and Victorian Ballroom.
