Improve square for maids
WITH reference to the article the Filipino maids and Statue Square in Central (South China Morning Post, April 26), I should like to comment that after spending some time there on a recent Sunday eating a take-away lunch, I recommend that you encourage the authorities to recognise that the square is the chosen meeting place of these women. They make it very lively and colourful.
Perhaps the best course of action would be to improve the facilities by providing more shade, seating and food stalls, rather than trying (unsuccessfully) to encourage these women to go elsewhere.
