GUANGDONG province will start checks on domestic surveyors this month in order to step up its control of the real estate market.
The move will target surveyors practising without proper documents and permits. The State Land Use Planning Department and the State Administration of Commerce and Industry have called for all surveyors to register with the commerce administration.
Only surveyor companies with seven or more certified surveyors and a registered capital of 500,000 yuan (about HK$465,000) can practice in all parts of the country.
Companies with two or more certified surveyors and a registered capital of at least 100,000 yuan can practice in the city they are based in and the counties in the vicinity.
Those with four or more certified surveyors and a registered capital of 200,000 yuan will be allowed to practice in the province they are based in.
