BRAZILIAN World Cup star Romario wants to return to the international team.

Romario, 29, who left Spanish club Barcelona for Brazilian side Flamengo said: 'When I was in Europe I was only interested in playing at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

'However, now that I am playing in Brazil I am available for all matches.' The fiery Brazilian scored a record 30 goals in 31 games for Barcelona in 1993-94, his last full season, but was reluctant to return to Spain after the World Cup.

After a scintillating performance against Manchester United in the European Champions' League, Barcelona allowed the restless star to leave.
