JUST as we suspected. While liberal America was loudly protesting teen-vandal Michael Fay's Singaporean thrashing, not a few good ol' boys were ready to recreate the event in their own living rooms.

Now, thanks to Pal Imports and their 'Oriental Rattan For Prison Whippings And Effective Crime Prevention' they have the chance.

For just US$19.95 ($154) plus $3 postage, readers of Soldier Of Fortune magazine and a variety of other right-wing organs can send off for their own cane which comes complete with diagrams and documents on the art of caning.

But who to cane? The instruction manual is not specific. However, Go thinks most readers of Soldier Of Fortune will agree: the man tied to the frame in the advert looks suspiciously like a liberal.

It is not known whether Pal Imports will be issuing a second instruction manual advising the whippee how to cash in with media, movie and autobiography rights.
