By George! It's Jr

WHAT do you do when you're 34, bored, and the son of the most famous president of the United States? The answer is obvious: start a political magazine.

That, at least, is what John F. Kennedy Junior is doing. Previously known for showing off his muscular build (People magazine once dubbed him 'sexiest man alive'), squiring Daryl Hannah, crawling under the White House desk as a two-year-old, and once offering his mansion for public housing, Kennedy has given his magazine the sober name of George (after Washington).

Its first issue next month will print half a million copies and run to 300 pages.

And at least someone's impressed: the French publisher Hachette Filipacchi has sunk US$20 million (HK$154.6 million) into the venture.

Only the uncharitable suggest that they may have been more impressed by Kennedy's name than by his journalistic credentials.
