VAUGHN Going returns to Hong Kong on Thursday from his South African adventure and the New Zealander will be happy to find that his place in the national squad is still vacant.

Going has been drafted in by national coach George Simpkin into the 13-strong squad for the Malaysian Rugby Union-COBRA 10s tournament to be played in Kuala Lumpur on September 2-3.

Forwards Rick Shuttleworth and Stuart Krohn have pulled out of the tour party. Their absence has led to Simpkin calling up Going and Gary Cross.

The national squad have been in training for the tournament, but undoubtedly the fittest person on the squad will be powerful centre Going, who comes straight from a season of playing for leading Durban district team Empangeni.

Going will rejoin last season's League champions Valley for the 1995-96 season.

Hong Kong have been drawn with South Africa, Germany and Malaysia in the preliminary round of the 16-team COBRA tournament.
