Dancing with a Passion

POPULAR local dance club Passion will be celebrating its final gig in the territory tomorrow night in what should be the party of the year.

The Passion people have poached top London DJ Lawrence Nelson from recent summer gigs around Europe for the event in Cossacks Vodka Bar in the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

Guest DJs Honey and Darren will also be on hand to give their party support, so join the fun from 10pm.

Tonight: Blues-rock virtuosos Rhythm Sweat make their debut as a quartet as Japanese guitarist Teruo Nurayama joins the line-up. The lads hit the Jazz Club stage at 9.30pm.

Those in an adventurous mood should check out the Human Jukebox in the Wanch. Management claim the act is as bizarre as it sounds so have a look from 10pm.

Cafe Deco features the Victoria Jazz Band from about 9pm while guitarist Dan LaVelle performs contemporary Latin-jazz in Tables 88 in Stanley from 9pm.

French Jazz pianist Christophe Lier plays the Piano Bar in the Rickshaw Club from 9pm.

Tomorrow: The Warehouse Project features cutting edge live music from Alive, Play Behind The Screen and Brother James in the old Aberdeen Police Station from 8.30pm.

Former Splash It About guitarist Fozzie goes solo in the Wanch at 7pm before Squinty Backbone take over at 10pm.

Rhythm Sweat hit the Sai Kung Beach Pub for a night of sweaty rock and blues from about 9pm.

Latin jazz duo Dan LaVelle and Tim Wilson perform in Tables 88 in Stanley from 9pm.

Sunday: Bambi and Blue Steel play blues-rock classics in Carnegies from 8pm.

Dave Colquhoun plays acoustic rock and blues in Mad Dogs Central from about 9pm.

Monday: Musical Mystery Tour in the Jazz Club from 9pm.

Wednesday: The Wanch has snatched the talents of top Irish folk singers Kieran Haalpin and Anth Kaley from their present Australian tour for a one night only show. Be there about 9pm.

Dan LaVelle is at Tables 88 from 9pm.

The Godown features the New Orleans Jazz Quartet from 9.30pm.

Dave Colquhoun rocks Mad Dogs Central with acoustic blues from about 9pm.

Thursday: Dave Colquhoun in Mad Dogs Central with blues-rock from about 9pm.

Plus: Bambi and Blue Steel play the Discovery Bay Residents Club every Thursday and Friday from 8pm.

Dance band Fire and Desire hit the New China Max stage Monday to Saturday from 9pm.

Brazilian jazz and blues duo Nika and Paulo bring soothing summer sambas to Quo quo Monday to Saturday at 8pm.

All American soul and funk band Hawkeye are in JJ's nightly. Be there from 9.30pm.

Cafe Deco on the Peak will feature the jazzy delights of Miguel and Friends Monday to Thursday and also Saturday from 7.30pm.
