TRAVELLING by car around Brazil opens a spectrum of opportunity for travellers who love the freedom that comes by following the open road.

A country so large that it covers almost half of the South American continent, Brazil offers roads in the coastal hinterland that are excellent and provide access to beautiful hideaway beaches beyond the normal reach of air travellers.

While tourists can hop from one tourist attraction to the next, many will miss in that process some of the most magnificent scenery in Brazil.

The average cost of hiring a car is about US$55 (HK$423) a day, or $325 (HK$2,502) a week.
