I TAKE strong exception to your subject article in the August 20 edition of the Sunday Morning Post Magazine.
There is no question that Neil Armstrong landed on the moon in July, 1969. I had the good fortune of being a programme planner for the prime contractor to NASA of the Houston, Texas Mission Control Center during seven space launches, including several moon landings.
I was involved with the design, fabrication and installation of many systems installed in the Mission Control Center which included telemetry consoles, trajectory displays, Apollo spacecraft systems monitoring, etc. During each mission I had free access to the control rooms and witnessed all of the exciting activity associated with these ventures. Nothing was staged. To suggest that it was is an insult to the thousands of people around the world who made the event possible.
