Baume & Mercier, a Maison born in 1830 in the Swiss Jura and currently the seventh oldest watch brand still in operation, will showcase its contemporary collections as well as rare timepieces products from its Swiss Museum Collection at the WATCHES&WONDERS exhibition.

This original perspective takes visitors on a passage of time and offers them the possibility of discovering the depth of the Maison’s unfailing attachment to making luxury watchmaking accessible. The museum pieces selected for this historical exhibition are fully representative of the Maison’s expertise, its capacity for innovation and its dedication to strong, heritage-related values. The historical objects presented, such as the notebook of its founder Louis-Victor Baume, along with the watches symbolising the Maison’s evolution over the years, have been chosen to emphasise the care they devote to celebrating the concept of passing on know-how through the generations. This mission is epitomised within the brand’s current watch collections.

Connoisseurs and collectors visiting this historical exhibition will have the opportunity to understand and appreciate the enduring nature of beauty expressed by Baume & Mercier. The inherent timelessness of the design of their creations provides a source of constantly renewed inspiration. It also reintroduces a contemporary interpretation of the powerful and lasting fundamental principles aimed at saluting heritage and tradition. These are the founding values of the brand that are cherished and ideally suited to conveying the permanence of true balance in all things. A balance that is showcased throughout this exhibition by the choice of objects on display and that Baume & Mercier embodies on a daily basis in their logo, the Greek letter “Phi” – the symbol of the so-called Golden Number representing perfect proportions.
