Seminars on China, design

AS in previous years, a major feature of this fair will be the opportunity to hear experts on various specialised areas of the jewellery field speak in a series of seminars.

'There are two seminar programmes. The Gemological Institute of America is organising its own two-day seminar and we are helping the Gemological Association of Hong Kong to organise a one-day seminar,' Miller Freeman director Peter Sutton said.

The Gemological Association (GA) of Hong Kong sessions will focus on jewellery trading and design trends with a special emphasis on China business.

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will be presenting educational seminars on the latest findings on gemstones and diamonds.

The two GIA sessions will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at 9.30 am in Concord Room II and III at the New World Harbour View Hotel and will be led by Dr Ilene Reinitz of the GIA Research Department.

The first will be an update on GIA research into diamonds and the second will be devoted to coloured stones.

The Miller Freeman/GA seminars will be held on the same days in Room 502 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
