To mark the first edition of WATCHES&WONDERS, the French High Jewelry and Timepiece Maison Van Cleef & Arpels is giving pride of place to an enchanting vision: the Poetry of Time™.

Founded at 22 Place Vendôme in 1906, the Maison has remained faithful to a highly distinctive style characterized by creativity, enchantment and a fairylike quality. From its High Jewelry creations to its watch collections, the Maison stands out for the virtuosity and excellence of its savoir-faire, which is constantly being renewed.

When the Maison’s unique style finds expression in the field of watchmaking, it ushers in a new dimension: the Poetry of Time. The Maison draws from its enchanted universe to reveal a moment of grace, luck or beauty. Each creation offers a dreamlike perspective on the passage of time. The wonders of the watchmaker’s craft accomplished in the workshops of Switzerland are used to bring the enchanting stories to life on the dial and create precious moments of emotion.

This year at WATCHES&WONDERS, the kite motif so dear to Van Cleef & Arpels takes on a tender, feminine aspect. On the Lady Arpels Jour/Nuit Cerfs-Volants watch, a young man and a young woman make a secret wish by launching a kite into the air. Above them, a joyful ballet of kites enlivens a sky that changes throughout the day. Also to celebrate the union of two fields of expertise – the measurement of time and the excellence of Van Cleef & Arpels’ High Jewelry workshops, the new Pavot Mystérieux High Jewelry watch has been created using the Mystery Setting™ technique, a signature of the Maison since the 1930s and to maintain the tradition of convertible jewelry, the Pavot flower can be removed and worn as a clip to suit the occasion.
