AN article on August 12 in The Review featured a photograph captioned ' 'Doctor Gift', Ricardo Asch'. Dr Asch is under investigation by Californian authorities for alleged misdeeds involving the theft of human eggs and embryos.

It has been drawn to our attention that the photograph was, in fact, of Professor David de Kretser, Director of the Institute of Reproduction and Development at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

We regret the error and are pleased to take this opportunity of apologising to Professor de Kretser and the Institute for the embarrassment caused.
