Dario sets splendid scene for Conrad's fifth birthday
NOBODY enjoys throwing a party better than Dario Regazzoni, the tonsorially challenged supremo of the Conrad, who is one of the great characters around town.
So he was at his characteristically beaming best when he discharged rivers of champagne and hillocks of caviar to celebrate the fifth anniversary of his establishment at a well-attended bash in the ballroom.
But glittering socialites cannot be satisfied with champers alone.
So Tony Carpio and his band were around to provide just the sounds for those who wanted to take a breather from the buffet tables groaning with calories.
As a final touch Regazzoni ensured that all his guests went home with silver spoons in their mouths (Christoffle, of course) as a memento of the occasion.
