Partners set for success

PUT Success Partners very firmly down in the book of future winners - this one will definitely oblige.

For the second time in as many starts this season, the three-year-old Irish import flew home from a position well back to snatch fifth place. Last night it was in the second event, a Class Four short sprint on equitrack which is not where he will be winning.

Success Partners is a well-bred private purchase griffin by the good sire Last Tycoon and he is handled by former champion trainer Ivan Allan, who will know exactly what he has here.

Claimer Peter Y. S. Wong was in the saddle last night but it will be no surprise to see Basil Marcus aboard shortly over a longer trip on the grass. In Class Four, Success Partners really does have what it takes.

Chiu Chow Kid, in the same race, is now on a very dangerous mark and ran a pleasing fourth for the Neville Begg and Greg Childs combination.

He is definitely coming to hand and at the bottom end of Class Four - and an overlap into Class Five would make him a very good thing indeed.

Miss Piggy can always be relied upon to win a race or two in any given season and it may not be long before she obliges - judging by a fair effort in the third event.

Miss Piggy finished midfield in the race won by outsider Vitality but it was an excellent run for a future event.
