INTER-CONTINENTAL Hotels and Resorts has called off negotiations with Hai Sun Hup Group over a proposed joint venture in Australia and New Zealand.
Managing director Robert Collier said Inter-Continental's focus remained in Asia-Pacific. New hotels had been opened in Tokyo Bay and Singapore and building was under way in Taiwan, Cambodia, Indonesia and Western Samoa.
Mr Collier said the company was committed to Australia and New Zealand through other joint ventures.
