Deep sea treasure

WOULD hate to be in one very embarrassed Marine Department employee's deck shoes this week. Our sea dog was repairing a new and very complex piece of equipment used to measure tidal flows in the Ma Wan channel. And, at first, everything was going swimmingly. But then captain chaos turned his back. At that instant the device rolled off the side of the Marine launch and disappeared into one of the territory's deepest channels. There is no chance of finding it of course. The loss was the equivalent of tearing 500 $1000 notes into tiny pieces and tossing them into the harbour.
