GERMAN Swiss International School beat Pui Ching Middle School by 246-158 on the overall standings to clinch the boys' overall championship at the Division Two inter-school swimming competition, held recently at Kowloon Park Swimming Pool.

Credit should go to the GSIS Grade C team, who scored 130 points to take the Grade C title, 68 points ahead of Pui Ching, who finished third. Chinese International School came second with 71 points.

Apart from successes in individual events, the GSIS swimmers sparkled in the relay races. The Grade C team took the gold in the 4 x 50 m medley relay, beating Pui Ching in 2 min 22.40 sec. St Joan of Arc came third.

The Grade C boys kept up the good work and scored again in the 4 x 50 m freestyle relay in 2 min 1.90 sec.

In the Grade B 4 x 50 m freestyle relay, GSIS beat St Stephen's College, Stanley, to win the gold in 1 min 56.64 sec. St Paul's College finished third.

The GSIS Grade A team, however, was only 0.16 seconds behind eventual winner King's College in the 4 x 50 m freestyle relay.

GSIS Grade A star Gene Soo dominated the 100 m and 200 m breaststroke.

With a first in Grade A and a second in Grade C, St Stephen's Girls' College captured the girls' overall championship.

St Stephen's took the Grade A title.

Cheng Wing-kit of True Light Middle School of Hong Kong collected golds in the Grade A 200 m medley and the 100 m breaststroke, while teammate Choi King-man won the Grade A 50m and 100m freestyle.
