THE scandal over duplicate shares in Reliance Industries yesterday spread as Bombay Stock Exchange authorities found another 10,000 fake certificates in the custody of disgraced broker R.D. Choksi. He was declared a defaulter last month after he was found holding a substantial number of fake Reliance certificates while investors holding the scrip demanded four million rupees (about HK$845,600) compensation from the company. At the time, Reliance shares crashed from about 270 to 275 rupees to 230 rupees.

After recovering to around 262 rupees on Monday, yesterday they fell to 243 rupees on fears the exchange might suspend trading.
