Agreement to aid flow of cargo

THE Buyers Group of Seattle and Canada's Livingston International have signed an agreement to facilitate easier flow of cargo movement between Asia and Canada.

With the agreement, which went into effect on Friday, customers are offered a combination of Canada's premier brokerage, distribution and trade service, and a sophisticated cargo management system in Asia.

The package is aimed at importers and manufacturers of time-sensitive fashion products, including apparel, footwear and accessories.

''By expanding to meet the global needs of our customers, we both recognised that creating new assets to support this growth was not cost-effective,'' said Mr Harold Camicia, vice-president and general manager of Buyers in Seattle.
