THE Tricon group, comprising DSR-Senator and Cho Yang, has agreed with Italia di Navigazione on rationalising operations between the western Mediterranean and US East Coast.

The state-owned Italian company, which operates two vessels on the route, will stop deploying its own ships. The vessels will be taken over by Tricon for its service from the US East Coast via the Mediterranean to Southeast Asia.

On the western Mediterranean to the US leg, Italia will charter slots in both directions.
