WELCOME back to The Incredible Machine! This time, Sierra has added even more challenging and exciting elements to the latest version - 3.0 - of this top class puzzle game.

Similar to the previous versions of The Incredible Machine, players are given various devices - such as ropes, rubber bands, engines, gears, pinwheels, toasters, fans, and more, to solve the different puzzles.

Be prepared for some great new twists that will definitely put your brain back on the rack.

At the beginning of each puzzle, you, the player, will be presented with an incomplete or non-functioning machine.

You need to put to use all your logic and brain power to arrange the devices in such a way that you get the machine working once again.

You have more than 150 brain-bending puzzles to choose from - some are easy, and some are really tough.

If you manage to master all the puzzles, you can then start creating your own bouncing, spinning, floating, falling, and sparkling brain-teasers.

If you have no idea how to start building the machines out of all those gadgets and gizmos, you can always rope in Professor Tim, who will give you useful, step-by-step tips.

You can also choose to play a two-player game which allows you to invite one of your friends to join you in testing whose puzzle-solving techniques are the best.

The graphics and animation have been greatly improved in this version of the game, while the sound effects and background music are quite adequate. Perhaps Sierra should consider giving players a wider choice of background music to help liven up the game.

Although the game doesn't come with the usual printed hints and tips for players, there is a good on-line hint system.

The Incredible Machine Version 3.0 for Macintosh CD-ROM runs on any 68030 Macintosh or better with a double-speed CD-ROM drive, System 7.0 or higher, 8 megabytes of free RAM, and a 13 colour monitor.

For optimum performance, a Macintosh installed with a 68040 processor with a 4x speed CD-ROM drive is highly recommended.

The Incredible Machine is also available for IBM compatibles.

MEGAHINT: Don't try playing this game if you are feeling tired or haven't had enough sleep. You need a clear head to keep everything under control.

MEGAHINT: Don't forget about the helpful on-line information that is available. It is great for getting yourself out of sticky situations.
