MANY more Hong Kong and mainland companies are seeking a listing on the United States Nasdaq (National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation System) international stock market, according to its regional business development director Patrick Sutch.

Mr Sutch said companies with a strong growth potential would be taken up by investors in the US, and that there was also a change of sentiment in favour of China stocks.

Mr Sutch said the coming year looked extremely good for Nasdaq and that 1995 had produced a year of records for the market.

He said firms seeking a listing did not necessarily have operations in the US.

'Investors look for a good presentation of companies' potential growth. They are not as concerned about their track records or their past, as about their future.' Mr Sutch said Nasdaq's disclosure requirements were ample.
