Long wait for new appliance

I MADE arrangements with Towngas to have my gas appliance checked at 10.30am, on December 23.

A member of staff duly arrived on that day and another appointment was made for the replacement of the appliance at 10.30am on December 30.

Someone from Towngas paged me and informed me that no staff member would be coming, because the company did not yet have a replacement.

I was paged again on January 12, at around 8.45am, and told the new appliance was now available and would I be available for it to be replaced on that day. I replied that I would.

I waited for the Towngas technician to come, but no one arrived until I was about to go out, which was after 5pm, over eight hours later. Since I did not have time to let him do the necessary work, an appointment was made for the next day at 10.30am. But again, Towngas was late and nobody came until shortly after midday.

I do not appreciate this kind of service.

Even though the company must have known that its technician would be late, it did not bother to let me know.

I do not understand the point of making an appointment. The company just allows its staff to come and go as they please.

Time is precious for many people in Hong Kong.

As a faithful client of Towngas, I think I deserved better customer service than this.
