WE are indebted to American college students for the following historical insights: 'The sun never set on the British Empire because it is in the East and the sun sets in the West. Queen Victoria was the longest Queen. She sat on the throne for 63 years. Her death was the final event which ended her reign.' Or this: 'King Arthur lived in the Age of Shivery. King Harold mustard his troops before the Battle of Hastings and Joan of Arc was cannibalised by George Bernard Shaw.'
