Parents make meet a success

TWELVE new records were set at the annual sports day of Kwun Tong Government Secondary Technical School held recently at the Kowloon Bay Sports Ground.

The highlight of the sports meet was the parent-student invitation relay, drawing loud cheers from the spectators. Lam Ho-nam and his uncle won the race.

In her address, principal M. C. Chan extended her thanks to everyone who took part in the event, especially the parents.

'The success of a sports meet greatly depends on the co-operation and support of those present - athletes, officials, cheering teams and spectators,' Mrs Chan said.

Mr Pang Chung, assistant director of the Urban Council, officiated at the closing ceremony and presented prizes to the winners.

Mr Pang said he was impressed by the strong sense of co-operation and sportsmanship displayed by the athletes.

He also urged the athletes to uphold the spirit of the Olympics.
