VETERAN Aussie folk-rock band Weddings, Parties, Anything have been scooped up by Cafe Deco for a one-off show on Thursday (10.30pm).


The Weds are one of the best-value live acts from Oz with more than a decade of touring the world's pubs and clubs, combining influences from the Pogues to the Rolling Stones.


The $170 tickets for these guys are going to go fast so call 2849-5111 pronto. Tonight: Bluesman Willy Tang has a new band he'll be debuting called Fresh Yesterday. Sounds like a dessert, but Willy promises a good time in The Wanch from 10pm.


The Victoria Jazz Band are now Friday night regulars in Cafe Deco playing dixieland and a little swing from 9pm.


Dave Colquhoun hits Mad Dogs Central with acoustic blues about 9pm.


The Hard Rock Cafe in Kowloon have Vitamin Q playing nightly except Saturdays at about 9pm.


The New China Max features American band Raw nightly at 9.30pm.


Tomorrow: Spring Carnival '96 gets under way in Kowloon Park with a number of musical performances throughout the day highlighting with Vitamin Q playing their top 40 covers. They hit the Main Stage Piazza about 4.15pm.


Dance-rave Fruity gets under way again, this time with top British DJs Luvdup manning the decks. Happy house is the theme for the gig and guest DJs Christian and Lee Burridge will ensure the bouncy tunes continue until dawn. It gets going at midnight in the Godown and tickets are $170.


Moose Caboose provide a classy mix of rock and blues in The Wanch from 10pm.


Zigzag play their own original style of rock in their debut at the Fringe Club. Special guest rockers Sirius will also be along for the ride from 8pm. Don't forget the Fringe's ever-popular Saturday Night Open Mike jam session starts right after the gig at 11.30pm.


The Eh-Team play acoustic rock in Carnegies about 9pm.


The Recovering Alcoholics Jug Band are the hottest attraction in Shek O at the moment. Well, they're actually the only attraction but they play great blues. See them in Visage, Too from 10pm.


Sunday: Spring Carnival '96 continues with several live rock performances starting at 5.30pm. Distribution, Lethal Weapons along with John Laudon and Friends hit the Main Stage Piazza with the Box Brothers topping off the show.


Dave Colquhoun plays acoustic blues in Mad Dogs Central about 9pm. Bambi and Blue Steel in Carnegies from 8pm.


Wednesday: Variety show Mick's Bag of Allsorts will get under way again in the Viceroy, Sun Hung Kai Centre, with an eclectic combination of performers to provide a little music, dance, mime, comedy, theatre, acrobatics - you name it! The show gets going about 9pm and tickets are $99 by calling 2827-7777.


The China Coast Jazzmen play classic dixieland in the Godown from 9pm.


Bambi and Blue Steel in The Wanch with classic rock from 9pm.


Cool blues from Dave Colquhoun and Easy Does It, from 10pm in Mad Dogs.


Thursday: Dave and Easy Does It hit Mad Dogs Kowloon about 9pm.
