Anti-ad group got it right

I HAVE had to endure an unpleasant environment, where people living around me smoke, for the past 20 years.

Many of these smokers eventually die from lung cancer and heart disease, as a direct result of their smoking.

In spite of this direct link between disease and cigarettes, people keep on smoking.

I was therefore glad to learn about the organisation, People Acting for a Smokeless Society (PASS), which is completely opposed to all forms of tobacco advertising.

In Hong Kong the adverts put out by the cigarette companies, try to portray smoking as being something done by smart people.

This is an irresponsible position to take.
