Yiu's fortune looks Wonderful

IT'S pretty hard to keep first-season trainer Ricky Yiu out of the limelight these days.

Not only did he hit double figures for the campaign when Everbright toyed with his opposition in the second event, he also sent out Wonderful for a much improved and highly creditable fourth to Brilliant Forever in the third at last night's Happy Valley meeting. Yiu's stable numbers are increasing almost daily and it is not hard to see why. He's getting results and his horses look terrific.

They put on condition and there is a real gleam to their coats. Last night Wonderful looked well prior to the third and ran on for a strong fourth despite having a very tough run out wide with no cover. This was his second start back from a spell and he should be cherry-ripe next time out. The Stanley Chin-ridden Wonderful gave Super Falcon a severe check as they came out of the barriers, causing Gerald Mosse to snatch up and lose at least three lengths. Super Falcon then ran on well to the line.
