Social media has become an essential marketing tool

Due to the widespread use of social media, marketing departments no longer simply focus on the general online population, but also adopt a more targeted approach. In turn, customers now have more control over their corporate relations through social media participation and engagement. At the same time, companies also strive to develop ways to increase customer engagement on a customised basis so that they can gather customers’ self-reported personal information and put it to good use. As a result, social media has become a preliminary marketing tool and this in turn creates a number of social media marketing and digital marketing jobs

Social media is not just about presence. Businesses are now endeavouring to increase engagement and interaction with their consumers, while riding on the viral nature of social media to increase their reach. As pointed out by Brendan Read, an industry analyst at Frost & Sullivan, the nature of social media or digital marketing jobs has changed from a focus on brand awareness to customer engagement, such as the use of hashtags or popular social site logos.

As social sites are now more tailored to niche interests, the ability to understand or create relevant content is vital to stand out among competitors. Customers now expect more authenticity and quality from companies. However, many firms are still unaware of the importance of executing social media marketing programmes or of preparing to recruit more staff such as digital marketers, analyst programmers or IOS App programmers.

Even after a business has built a good foundation for social community activities and is able to reach a large amount of users, strong sales are not guaranteed without people working in areas such as programming. Linking social media with appropriate and feasible sales channels is just the first step to enabling businesses to enhance their competitiveness and returns on investment.

But simply collecting a large amount of customer data without properly structuring it is insufficient. Companies must create programmer jobs so that they have the people on board who can figure out the most relevant information for digital marketing or other marketing programmes. One of the responsibilities of an analyst programmer is to source other relevant social and offline data in order to get more information or relevancy to develop more tailor-made marketing programmes.
Social media will undoubtedly continue to be a major focus area for companies. Digital marketing, social media marketing, analyst programmer jobs, IOS App programming and other media-related jobs will in turn become more and more important.
