Harris Corp of the United States has established a US$12 million joint-venture factory in Liaoning province, to produce advanced television transmitters and frequency modulation broadcast transmitters.

Xinhua (the New China News Agency) said the factory's partner was the Anshan Radio and Television Group.

Output value in the first five years of operation was expected to reach 570 million yuan (about HK$528 million). Harris signed its first co-operation agreement with Anshan Radio in early 1994.
