On March 20, we published an article entitled 'Former judge spared court fight'. We accept that the emphasis of the article was incorrect in that the main point in issue was the Bar Association's application for a review of an earlier decision to admit UK counsel, not allegations against Mr Alan Hoo QC.
In an earlier hearing, the Chief Justice had said that the proceedings before him were not in any way concerned with the allegations against Mr Hoo.
We did not intend to suggest that there was any substance in the allegations against Mr Hoo, or that Mr Hoo settled the proceedings to avoid them being raised in court. We regret any embarrassment caused to Mr Hoo.
