Judge urges tougher action on court orders

The execution of court orders should be more diligently enforced, a top judge said yesterday.

Ren Jianxin , Secretary for the policy-setting Central Commission on Political and Legal Affairs and the president of the Supreme People's Court, made the call at yesterday's national conference on the carrying out of court verdict execution work.

'Courts officials must be fully aware of the importance of this work, and do it well in line with the political orientation of providing service for reform, development and stability,' Xinhua (the New China News Agency) quoted Mr Ren as saying.

Executing court orders was 'an important guarantee for the realisation of citizen's rights and interests, and a major means to protect the unity and dignity of state laws,' he said.
