Apology: James Thomson

An article headlined 'Former Judge Spared Court Fight' which we published on March 20 incorrectly stated that lawyer James Thomson had been called 'a rather naughty boy' for allowing proceedings to go ahead when he knew a compromise had already been reached. In fact, the comment related to Mr Thomson's attack on the Bar Association for its lack of impartiality in siding with the other party against his client. We apologise for the error, and for the incomplete form in which our original apology appeared in yesterday's paper.
