Asian Glory was the subject of a stewards' inquiry two starts ago over 1,400 metres at Sha Tin and last night found the Valley mile inadequate. All the same, the way the John Moore-trained five-year-old hit the line in the fourth event won well by Classic Boy, there is a race to be won.

Asian Glory has always needed a staying trip to show and there is no better placer of his horses than the defending champion trainer. Moore has an encyclopedic knowledge of the racing calendar and he will almost certainly have his eye on something over the next month or so. It is hard to find the superlatives to describe Ricky Yiu's first season as a trainer. He's sent out an incredible 19 winners having opened the campaign with nine old crocks. Last night his Brotherhood had no luck in running at all in the straight in the 1,200-metre race won by Citispeed. He was finishing best of all when running straight into the proverbial brick wall.
