Swiss aid for hotel students
Students from Hong Kong and the mainland wishing to pursue an international career in the hotel industry now have an opportunity to get extra financial support.
The Centre International de Glion (CIG) in Switzerland is offering a special scholarship worth about $37,200.
The funds will be offered each term for the August 1996 and January 1997 intake of it's degree and diploma programmes.
CIG recently announced confirmation by the Validation Board of the University of Wales of its three-year diploma programme as a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in international hospitality management.
Over the years it has developed programmes in English which fulfil the needs of the international hotel industry.
At CIG, students spend one semester on academic training and another on paid practical training.
The institution also offers a one-and-a-half year diploma course in hospitality administration.
The CIG is one of the three most famous hotel management schools in the world. The other two are Cornell University and Lausanne Hotel School.
